The 18 players will be selected following the completion of the U16 Boys All Stars Competition in Regina on July 29, 2007 and immediately transported up to Saskatoon to begin their training camp. The training will take place mornings and evenings at the SaskTel Sports Centre under the direction of Sean Fleming, the CSA National Men’s Under 16 Head Coach.
All Saskatoon Youth Soccer Coaches are invited to attend the training sessions to further develop their coaching skills. Times are Monday to Thursday 5:00 - 6:30pm and Tuesday to Friday 10:00am - 11:30am.

KIDS SOCCER CAMP IN THE PARK:
During their week of intensive training the national players from across Canada and CSA coaches will be taking part in a Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. initiative called “Kid’s Soccer Camp in the Park”. This entails a free drop in soccer camp for all interested youth and mini soccer players to meet the U16 Boys National Team and participate in fun learning drills with qualified national level coaches. These camps will take place at various park locations through out Saskatoon and at Warman on July 31, August 1 and August 2 from 1:00 – 2:00pm. Tuesday camps will be located at College Park and Silverwood Heights playground sites, Wednesday camps wil be located at Westmount and Riversdale playground sites, and Thursday camps will be located at Confederation Park playground site and Albert Neufeld Park in Warman. CSA Sean Fleming expresses his excitement to be coming to Saskatoon to participate with the National U16 Boys team in the “Kid’s Soccer in the Park”. Fleming says, “It is great for the Grassroots and the National teams to work together to promote the great sport of soccer.” He also feels that “it is important for National team players to be exposed to young players as they may be able to plant some dreams for these players”. On behalf of the Canadian Soccer Association, Sean Fleming gives great credit to the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. in hosting the National U16 Boys Training Camp.

U16 BOYS NATIONAL TEAM vs HUSKIE UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB (friendly matches):

U12 PROVINCIAL CHALLENGE CUP:
In addition to the Canadian U16 Men’s Training Camp, Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. is hosting the Saskatchewan Soccer Association U12 Provincial Challenge Cup August 4 - 6, 2007. The event is the first of its kind in Saskatchewan and aims at creating a fun learning experience for U12 aged soccer players across the province. There will be two divisions with boys and girls teams competing for the Provincial title in their division category. The teams participating in the event will be representing Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, Swift Current and Lloydminster.

The first games begin Saturday morning August 4, 2007. The last games of the event will begin around 12:30pm on Monday August 6, 2007. On Sunday morning, August 5, 2007 all registered U12 teams will have the opportunity to take part in player seminars under the direction of Sean Fleming, the CSA National Men’s Under 16 Head Coach. It is very appropriate that we have another opportunity for coaching staff to work with the Under 12 teams as it is such a critical stage in development and it will be a pleasure to work with the coaches and players.
